Great Falls Montana Tourism is a Destination Management Organization (DMO) and in the most basic of terms, an independent non-profit. It is a bit more than that, but for now, a non-profit. We are focused on growing the travel industry for the community of Great Falls. Since 2015, we’ve been the primary promoters of Great Falls, placing paid media, recruiting group business, and supporting the development of our destination to make it more appealing to all travelers. There is more history to share, but we’ll save that for another day. On October 1, 2025, Great Falls Montana Tourism was contracted as the management partner for the regional DMO, Central Montana Tourism. Together, we leverage each other’s strengths to ensure efficient and effective implementation of our efforts to produce greater impact. All the money to keep Great Falls Montana Tourism operational comes from all the fine folks staying in a lodging property in Great Falls for less than 31 days. In addition to their room rental rate, our guests pay a small assessment ($2 or less) when they stay in a motel or hotel, and an 8% tax when they stay in a motel, hotel, short-term rental (like VRBO or AIRBNB), or campground.
