Signature Food

What’s Great Falls’ signature food? One word: fresh. Many of our local restaurants specialize in farm to table practices, like Harvest Craft Kitchen and Roadhouse Diner. Even our craft beer is a fresh as it can be, and the localist. The barley is harvest within 30 miles of Great Falls and the water is sourced by the Mighty Missouri River, which runs right through Great Falls. If we had to pick a different way to describe our signature food, it would be “the best.” Great Falls is home to the #1 Irish Pub in Montana, The Celtic Cowboy. We also have Montana’s Best Coffee Shop: Crooked Tree Coffee. And how about the #1 Bar in the World Worth Flying for, according to GQ Magazine? Yeah, we have that too. Don’t forget KellerGeist Pub Theater, one of the most unique experiences in Downtown Great Falls.

What’s a Pedlet?

Us locals use the word pedlet freely in the summer, but we forget its unqiue to Great Falls. Simply put, a pedlet is outdoor seating. Mile from Enbar explained what a pedlet is to us on our podcast, and he said it’s how outdoor seating is set up, and the detour of the sidewalk. When summer rolls around, it’s pedlet season in Great Falls and we cannot get enough of it. Some restaurants and bars offer outdoor seating all year round, but as you know, in winter, it isn’t for the faint of heart.

So, who really has the best coffee?

While Crooked Tree Coffee is the best coffee shop in Montana, some people think that Al Banco gives them a run for their money. Then there’s Electric City Coffee and Bistro, who has excellent coffee and some of the best pastries we’ve ever had. And don’t forget about Broadwater Brewing Company. Their coffee is delicious and their expansive waffle menu is after our hearts.

You’re going to want to take a picture of that

Before there was Instagram, there was the Sip ‘n Dip Lounge. A tiki bar in the middle of Montana, located in Downtown Great Falls. Home to the famous (or infamous to a few) fishbowl which is 54 ounces of blue alcohol goodness (need different words), the Sip ‘n Dip Lounge is the #1 Bar in the World Worth Flying for, according to GQ Magazine and has been featured on every major news network, been written about countless times, and is home to music videos, movies, and Piano Pat, who sang “I Love this Bar” to Toby Keith there…and his response was priceless. Pictures of mermaids that swim in a tank (the guest pool) behind the bar are all over social media, and their fishbowl has been known to get a few likes too.

Dinner and a Show

The Sip ‘n Dip Lounge isn’t the only place to get a unique experience. KellerGeist Pub Theater is always entertaining and often fires up their grill for brautwarsts, has events like “Drink with a Shrink,” where a licensed therapist takes questions from the audience and gives her take on the situation (for entertainment purposes only), and is home to the stein hold competition. The Celtic Cowboy also has live music throughout the week, as well as lively trivia nights.
