Journey to the Sun

Journey to the Sun is a documentary about the legendary Going-To-The-Sun road in Glacier National Park. Without the plowing crews that literally risk their lives to open the road every spring, we may not have the opportunity to marvel at the wonder of the road through Glacier.

The Going-To-The-Sun road was planned in the 1920’s when Congress provided annual funds of $100,000 for the construction of the road. The road itself took about 11 years to build and people wonder how could it have been built in the first place. In 1932 the road was completed and the first car drove the entire 51 miles of the road. This is a great opportunity to learn about the past, present and future of the Going-To-The-Sun road. Doors open at 6:00pm
