How did John Coltrane influence hip-hop? Why is Billie Holiday’s voice so unique? How did Dave Brubeck force pro-civil rights policy in the South? Those are all questions that Justin Varnes posed to students while teaching a Jazz History course. Emerging from that college course, Varnes created the Jazz Legacy Project. Combining entertainment with education the show features captivating stories about various Jazz artists and their impact on American music. Doors open one hour prior to performance.
