The Eventory is an inventory listing of events. It looks like this “Event Name at Event Location”. That’s it! It’s simple. We link “Event Name” to a location online for people to get all the deets. To maintain the value in The Eventory, let’s make sure what you want listed is really an event.

Definition of event:

a: something that happens : OCCURRENCE
b: a noteworthy happening
c: a social occasion or activity

Q: Is my church group meeting an event?
A: Nope – it’s a meeting.

Q: Is lunch at the Senior Center an event?
A: Nope – it’s a program.

Q: Is my Labor Day Sell-Off Event an event?
A: Nope – it’s a promotion.

Q: Is my Senior Discount Wednesdays an event?
A: Nope. It’s an ongoing business operation.

Q: Is my soup special this week an event?
A: Nope.

Now, let’s make sure you understand the objectives of The Eventory, produced by Great Falls Montana Tourism.

Objectives:
1. To aid travelers with itinerary fillers while in Great Falls.
2. For businesses to know and plan around, what may cause increase in foot traffic to or around their businesses.
3. Help other event planners know what events are occurring when they want to have an event so that can either be aware of a partnership opportunity or that another event that could cannibalize attendance.

Great Falls Montana Tourism Staff does not list every event occurring in Great Falls. We make judgement calls regarding an event through a marketing lens. We judge if the event will be of interest to non-resident visitors, if the event is really an event or just the regular course of business, and if the type of event is open to the public. We could list karaoke every day of the week, multiple times on some days, we don’t.

The Eventory is delivered every Monday at 7 am. Make sure the event you are submitting won’t have passed before the next Eventory is sent.
