Walk through the history of Great Falls, along the Missouri River, at your own pace. Starting on the North Side of the River, this walk through time will engage you with the Grizzly Bear encounter of Capitan Meriwether Lewis, 2500-year old Native American archaeological site, railroads and the large-scale hard rock mining, along with dawn of water powered electricity. Much of River’s Edge Trail is built on former roads and railroad lines. We encourage you to explore this historic district. Maps are available at Great Falls Montana Tourism’s basecamp at 100 1st Avenue North.
