Great Falls Montana Restaurant Week begins on Friday, February 15th. Since the menus were posted, I have been strategizing on the best way to eat my way through Great Falls to ensure I make the most of the limited menus. Over the weekend, I did it, I finalized my plan and here is how I plan to get the most out of Great Falls Montana Restaurant Week 2019!
Day 1 | Friday, February 15th, 2019
LUNCH at Celtic Cowboy. I’m a huge BLT fan, so when I saw this, I knew this is where I would start my week. I’ll begin my lunch with soup, then get the Celtic BLT which features Guinness glazed Bacon paired with rich ripe tomatoes and crisp lettuce on toasted soft white bread served with chips. I’ll top off lunch with a Classic Strawberry Shortcake with Chocolate Shavings.
DINNER at Rikki’s. There are two choices to be made at dinner, but I knew quickly I wanted to try the tossed Lobster Lasagna. I’m going to start with a salad and steamed clams in garlic herb butter and white wine. To finish this experience, I’ll be getting the Caramel Apple Crisp with Wilcoxson Vanilla Bean Ice Cream for dessert.
Day 2 | Saturday, February 16th, 2019
LUNCH at Sip ‘n Dip. I love tacos! Who doesn’t? The Chicken Wonton Tacos feature a lime-infused chicken breast served on wonton taco shells, topped with fresh corn and cabbage slaw tossed with an oriental lime sauce. I’ll pair this with a blue Hawaiian.
DINNER at Enbar. The menu at Enbar has two main course options and I am going with the 12 oz Ribeye Steak. It will be served with a salad, roll, rosemary butter roasted red potatoes, and seasonal vegetables. I’ll pair it with their exclusive draft beer – Enbeer.
Day 3 | Sunday, February 17th, 2019
LUNCH at Rikki’s. My favorite pizza at Rikki’s is the Drunken Chicken Pizza, so I am going to order that, with a salad and finish with the gooey butter cake for dessert. Nothing like getting a favorite meal on a Sunday!
DINNER at Celtic Cowboy. There are three main course options for dinner on the restaurant week menu. After toiling over my plan, I am only going to get to try two. This night, I will choose the Gnocchi and fried portabella mushrooms in a garlic sauce appetizer, the Irish chop Salad, and for the main course, Seafood Pasta. The pasta is served with Shrimp and Crabmeat in a lemon butter sauce tossed with linguine. Dessert will be the Classic Strawberry Shortcake with Chocolate Shavings.
Day 4 | Monday, February 18th, 2019
LUNCH at Electric City Coffee and Bistro. The Chicken Tikka Masala is a marinated and grilled chicken breast in a rich sauce made with tomato, cream, chilis, and Indian spices. It’s topped with fresh cilantro, served with jasmine rice and housemade flatbread.
DINNER at Clark & Lewie’s. Great Falls is known for good steak and this menu is a perfect Montana meal. I’ll start with the Shrimp Cocktail appetizer, next, salad, the main course will be a local Angus steak topped with grilled onions and mushrooms, served with a baked potato, vegetables, and bread. I’ll pair this all with a pint of locally brewed craft beer.
Day 5 | Tuesday, February 19th, 2019
LUNCH at Celtic Cowboy. I’ll start with a salad, then, have the Ground Lamb Burger Sliders with Jalapeno Goat Cheese and Tomato Jam, served with Sweet Potato fries AND for dessert, Classic Strawberry Shortcake with Chocolate Shavings.
DINNER at Jah-T’aime. There are many options to customize your dining experience here. I will start with soup. For the main course, I’ll select the Oxtail, it’s locally sourced, and pair it with macaroni and quinoa. This meal will come with the chef’s choice of dessert and a drink!
Day 6 | Wednesday, February 20th, 2019
LUNCH at Teriyaki Madness. A surf and turf special, only for restaurant week! There are many choices here, so my lunch will be white rice, topped with stir-fried veggies, then beef and salmon teriyaki. This will be accompanied by an egg roll, drink, and macaroni salad.
DINNER at Enbar. Yes, I’m heading back to Enbar to try the salmon filet! It’s a treat to get a full dinner here, which is why I am taking full advantage during Restaurant Week. My main course will be served with a salad, roll, rosemary butter roasted red potatoes, and seasonal vegetables. I’ll pair it with a glass of wine, which I’ll ask the team the suggest.
Day 7 | Thursday, February 21st, 2019
LUNCH at Rikki’s. Restaurant Week is a time to try, without fear. Since I know I love Rikki’s pizza, I’m going to head back to Rikki’s and try the Thai Chicken Pizza. I’m going to select a starter salad and finish it off with the gooey butter cake.
DINNER at Sip ‘n Dip. The main course for eating in a Tiki Lounge, it’s surg and turf – no need to choose! I’m also going to have soup and a screamin’ tiki drink, which comes with a souvenir Tiki Glass!
Day 8 | Friday, February 22nd, 2019
LUNCH at Jah-T’aime. There are some great options on the menu here. I’m trying one of the appetizers during my visit. I’m going to ask Chef Christopher for the best pairing to my Jerk Chicken main course selection. This lunch will include Jasmine Rice and Johnny Cake!
DINNER at Electric City Coffee & Bistro. The dinner is only available this night to kick-off Restaurant Week. To start, I’ll get the grilled chicken skewer seasoned with garam masala, which is served with cucumber yogurt dipping sauce. Then, Indian Style bean and corn salad made with cumin, mustard seed, and cilantro. Now for the main course, Chingri Malai Curry Prawn served with jasmine rice and flatbread. To finish this meal off, I’ll experience Moti Choor Rabri Parfait, which is a crumbled cookie topped with cardamon sweet cream, all topped with toasted almonds and pistachios, which is included.
Day 9 | Saturday, February 23rd, 2019
LUNCH at Clark & Lewie’s. The lunch feature is full of bacon! I wanted to finish my experience strong with the Gourmet Ultimate Bacon Cheese Burger. This is a bacon-infused regionally sourced Angus burger atop a toasted bun, topped with cottage bacon, cheese, and a bacon-infused aioli sauce. I’ll get fries and a soda. This is my kind of comfort food!
DINNER at Celtic Cowboy. I’ll be starting my meal with the Guinness Meatballs with signature cheese sauce appetizer, and the butternut squash soup. The main course will be the Wild Boar Tenderloin topped with crab claw meat and hollandaise served with roasted root vegetables. I’ll eat a Classic Strawberry Shortcake with Chocolate Shavings for dessert.
I’ll be sure to take photos of everything, #GFMTRW, and get friends to come along, so I can try the menu items I won’t have time to get to. I will event plan to squeeze in shopping at The Blue Rose and Motifs as they are offering 20% off if I bring my receipt in from a participating restaurant. February 15-23, 2019 is a great time to be in Great Falls, Montana!
