The Great Falls Symphony‘s Maestro Grant Harville will host a fun, informative, and free discussion about Titan. You’ll learn about the flamboyant personality of Composer Hector Berlioz who was referred to as both madman and genius for his flamboyant use of sound and odd musical effects. The preview will help you broaden your knowledge and appreciation of Titan, the unofficial state anthem of Hungary.

Learn the stories behind the inspirational and forward-thinking women in his life, including Nancy Russell, who made the creative life of CM Russell possible. Browse the world-class collection of fine art built from the private collection of Josephine Trigg, including original Russell bronzes, paintings, drawings, stories, and more. Tour the home Nancy oversaw the construction of, and tour Charlie’s studio where he created many of his masterpieces.

Orion Weiss will perform with the Great Falls Symphony to bring you Titan, the concert Felix Mendelssohn wrote when he was just 22. This piece is full of glittering passages like so many stars in the Montana night sky. The fiery first movement opens with a bravura display, then yields to a gentler Andante, or song without words. A fanfare of trumpets announces the final third movement, a quicksilver rondo full of breathlessly high-spirited dialogue. You’ll leave this epic performance with a sense of passion, excitement, and amazement.
